New Project Activities!

We are pleased to announce that the scope of the 11th EDF SPS Measures Project has been expanded to include activities related to the management of cadmium in cocoa and cocoa-derived products. These activities are a part of a wider Project funded by the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) which seeks to maintain market access of cocoa and cocoa-derived products from the Latin American and Caribbean Region by reducing the levels of cadmium concentrations while contributing to poverty alleviation and ensuring food safety. The cocoa cadmium activities will be implemented by the internationally known Cocoa Research Centre of The University of the West Indies based in Trinidad and Tobago. These activities will start in 2022.
